In 1960, the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) was founded. The university's main campus is situated in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district. Both UGC and AICTE acknowledge the University. One of the most well-known colleges in the nation, it provides a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes.

Under many departments, GBPUAT offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programmes.

• Admission to all the courses is based on merit in the entrance exam conducted by GBPUAT followed by Counselling.
• Admission for the B.Tech. is done on the basis of JEE Main score.
• Securing admission in M.Tech courses depends upon the GATE exam score.
• Candidates are selected for the MBA course on the basis of CAT/CMAT score followed by Group Discussion and Personal interview.
• Admission to the MCA course will be done on the basis of a separate entrance exam conducted by GBPUAT, Pantnagar.

• The application fee for General and OBC candidates is INR 1200/- and for SC/ST/PH candidates is INR 600/-.

Eligibility: Pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Physics and Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/ Biology

Selection Criteria: Selection will be done on the basis of merit secured in the JEE Main exam followed by Counselling conducted by the university.

GBPUAT offers B.Sc., B.V.Sc and B.F.Sc. courses in various specializations. The duration of B.Sc. and B.F.Sc. & AH is 4 years while B.V.Sc. is offered for a duration of 5 years. The basic eligibility for all the courses is a pass in Intermediate/10+2 in relevant subjects. Admission is based on the Entrance Exam conducted by the University.

GBPUAT M.Tech. Eligibility

The minimum requirement for the course is a BE/B.Tech. degree in a relevant discipline with a CGPA of 6 on a 10-point scale or CGPA of 3 on a 5-point scale or at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute/university. 

Selection Criteria: Selection of students for M.Tech. will be done on the basis of merit in the GATE exam followed by Counselling conducted by GBPUAT.

NOTE - Selection of Other State candidates in M.Tech Agriculture is based on the entrance examination conducted by ICAR.

GBPUAT MBA Selection Criteria

• The university grants admission to candidates on the basis of the CAT/CMAT exam.
• Candidates with a valid score in any of the above exams are called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.
• Those who perform well in both rounds are selected for admission in the MBA course.
• Hence, the final selection is collectively based on the entrance exam score and performance in GD and PI rounds.

GBPUAT also offers M.Sc, M.Sc in Agriculture, Masters in Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.), Master’s in Fisheries Science (M.V.Sc.), Master’s in Home Science and MCA at the level. The basic requirement for all the courses is a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Admission to all the courses is done on the basis of merit secured in the entrance exam conducted by the university.

NOTE - For MCA, the university conducts a separate entrance exam.

GBPUAT offers full-time Ph.D degree in 6 departments under 53 specializations. The basic eligibility for the course is a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. Admission to Ph.D. course is based on merit secured in the written test conducted by the GBPUAT.

Key Points:

• At Master’s level, the candidate should have secured an OGPA not less than 6.500/10.000 or 4.000/5.000 or 1st Division
• At Bachelor's level, the candidate must possess an Overall Grade Point Average of not less than 6.000/10.000 or 3.000/5.000 or 55% marks in aggregate.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories.
• Admission to Ph.D. in Agronomy and Plant Pathology for Other State candidates shall be made through ICAR entrance examination only. These candidates need not apply for Pantnagar entrance examination.
• Admissions to other Ph.D. programmes for other state candidates are made through the university entrance examination as well as entrance examination conducted by ICAR.
• Students having M.Sc. Statistics/M.Sc. Applied Statistics will be awarded Ph.D. with a major in Statistics and those having M.Sc. Agricultural Statistics will be awarded Ph.D. with major in Agricultural Statistics

The application form will be available in online mode only. The steps to apply for any of the courses offered by the university are mentioned below:

• Go to the official website of GBPUAT.
• Register by providing details such as email, mobile number, name, date of birth, desired program and domicile.
• Upon successful registration, login using the mobile number/ registration number and password.
• Now fill the application form with personal, qualification and communication details.
• Also upload scanned documents of photograph, signature and left thumb impression.
• After filling the form, pay application fee of INR 1200/- (INR 600/- for SC/ST/PH candidates) through Credit Card/ Debit Card or Internet Banking.
• Post payment, take a printout of the confirmation page.

NOTE - In case a candidate wants to appear for other Master's programme in addition to MCA then he/she need to fill a separate application form

• Copy of Online Fee Receipt
• Self attested copy of Uttarakhand/J & K Domicile certificate (For UG only)
• Self attested copy of Category and Weightage Certificate if eligible
• Self-attested copies of High School Certificate and Certificate/Marks-sheet of qualifying examination
