There has been a delay in the admission process of junior colleges in Mumbai due to which FYJC administration is chalking out a plan to make up for the lost teaching time. The FYJC admission process is delayed by two weeks. As per the new schedule of FYJC education department, the third round of admissions will be conducted till 2nd August 2018 and the fourth round will be conducted from 7th to 9th August 2018.
Hemlata Bagla, Principal of KC College at Churchgate said that the students who will join the college late will not even get a month before the first-semester exams begin, as the exams are usually held in the first week of September. The FYJC education department has allowed all the colleges in Mumbai to start the classes as soon as 70% of the seats are filled up. Some of the colleges in Mumbai such as Jai Hind College and Mithibai College will start the classes after the second round of admission is completed.

However, few colleges like KC College have planned extra classes for students who are yet to seek admission. The exams may also be postponed by a week at these colleges. Parag Ajganokar, Principal NM College, said that the college requires at least a month’s time to conduct classes and complete the syllabus before conducting the exams

Meanwhile, the college has re-surrendered their management quota seats for the Central Admission Process. The decision regarding the same was taken by Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court this even led to confusion in some colleges.
