IIT Delhi and ISRO Collaborate for Space Technology Cell

A new partnership has been formed between the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and ISRO for the establishment of a space technology cell on campus. IIT Delhi will also be celebrating its Golden Jubilee Convocation Ceremony with ISRO’s Chairman, K Sivan, as the chief guest.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has also joined hands with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to establish a Space Technology Cell at the campus. The objective of the space technology cell is to focus on research projects in the domain of Space Technology with definitive goals. There is a proposal to accept IIT Delhi to collaborate with ISRO as an academic partner. The proposal states that the partnership should be formed in research areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Technology, Nanotechnology, Functional Textiles or other areas of mutual interests, a press release stated.

As per sources, IIT Delhi will be releasing a special cover and a commemorative stamp as a symbol for the 50th Convocation Ceremony. In a statement released by the Director of IIT Delhi, V Ramgopal Rao announced that this year IIT Delhi will be celebrating the Golden Jubilee Convocation Ceremony. He also disclosed the launch of the Billion Dollar Endowment Drive, which had been launched on 31st October 2019 by the President of India at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. He stated that an initial commitment of ₹255 crores had been made by the institute’s alumni. He added that IIT Delhi’s alumni will be leading the fundraiser, for which the institute is already in the process of creating different teams.
The Director of IIT Delhi congratulated the students, staff and the faculty for the progress that had been covered in order to take the IIT Delhi to the next level of education quality. He added that the Institute has already undertaken ₹750 crores worth of projects on the campus for the development of the institute.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is all geared up to host the 50th Convocation Ceremony for their students this year on 2nd November 2019. The Chairman of ISRO, K Sivan will be the chief guest at the convocation ceremony.

At the 50th Convocation Ceremony, 825 students from different Undergraduate programmes will be conferred degree while 1,217 degrees will be awarded to the postgraduate students of IIT Delhi. As per sources, three different Gold Medals will also be awarded at the Convocation Ceremony.

Kacham Praneeth, a B.Tech student will be honoured with the President’s Gold Medal, meanwhile, Malika Singh from B.Tech Biomechanical Engineering and Biotechnology will be awarded the Director’s Gold Medal. Himakshi Barsiwal, an M.Tech Chemical Engineering student will be conferred the Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal at the 50th IIT Delhi Convocation.
