JEE Main 2020 (Sept) Female Topper Tanuja Chakku

The only female student who secured 100 percentile in the JEE Main 2020 (Session - II) exam, Tanuja Chakku, said that girls should not ever cease to aim for the 100 percentile mark in exams such as JEE Main and JEE Advanced. In a recent interview with one of the country’ leading newspapers, Tanuja stressed on the fact that the belief that girls can very rarely crack all-important entrance exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced is a result of various social factors attached to their education. But girls, she believes, should always strive to achieve 100 percentile score in these exams which will open up the doorways to various opportunities.

Daughter of a government school teacher couple, Tanuja is the only female student in the list of 24 students who secured the 100 percentile score in the JEE Main 2020 (Session-II) exam. She also said that it would have been impossible for her to achieve this feat had she been not in love with her subjects. She also appeared in the January session of the JEE Main 2020 exam where she secured 99.995 percentile marks.

The only reason she appeared in the September session of JEE Main 2020 in order to practice her skills. Compared to the 12 hours she used to dedicate to her studies previously, she only devoted 8-10 hours during the lockdown but she did study regularly and in order to keep herself calm, used to practice western dance as a hobby.

She devoted an equal amount of time to both her JEE Main and JEE advanced preparations and instead of going through the study materials frequently, she opted to attempt more and more sample papers. She has admitted that solving sample test papers have kept her motivated throughout her preparatory months as well as more confident.

Tanuja Chakku has her eyes set on IIT Bombay from where she wants to pursue her Computer Science studies. Her favourite subject is mathematics and the prospect of putting her favourite subject in the logical application is why she wants to pursue computer science studies.

She seems well-prepared for the JEE Advanced 2020 exam as well. She acknowledges the fact that JEE Advanced is tougher than JEE Main and she is afraid that she might not be able to finish her exam within the given time-limit. Thus, she wants to be accurate at the questions she attempts. She always attempts questions from the Physics section first followed by the Chemistry and Mathematics sections. She has a sister who appeared in the NEET 2020 exam on 13th September 2020.
