How to Choose the Best NIT after JEE Main 2024: The Joint Entrance Exam Main is the only B.Tech entrance exam that grants admission in NITs (National Institutes of Technology), and there is no provision for direct Btech admission in these premier institutes. • Solution 1: As per the above case, the parent does not want to send his son far from home despite his child’s good performance in the JEE Main exam. • Solution 1: Most of the newer NITs in India do not have a permanent campus, and the construction of the same is underway. All new NITs will get permanent campus soon. If the NIT in which your son got admission did not complete its first batch of B.Tech, it isn't easy to analyze the placements record. However, you can interact with the second or third-year students pursuing B.Tech in the respective institute to have an idea of quality education and faculty track record. If you get a positive response, you can go ahead with the admission
• Solution 2: You will have freeze, float and slide options in JoSAA counselling. Therefore, you can choose the float option and wait for the better allotment. However, it is advisable to wait only until 3rd round and not delay much. If you do not get a better allotment, you can proceed with the existing allotment.

Exercising options/ filling choices in JoSAA counselling is the most important aspect, as it will be the deciding factor of admission chance in NITs based on the candidate’s JEE Main rank. It is important to consider a few factors before exercising the web options, and these factors will help you get admission in top NIT.

Factor 1 – JEE Main Rank

The first factor that each student must consider before choosing an NIT is his/ her JEE Main rank. It is advisable to check the opening and closing ranks of various NITs in the previous years to have an estimate or idea of previous years' closing ranks. Since there is no limit on the number of options that a candidate can fill, it is advisable to fill as many choices as possible.

Factor 2 – Category

The candidates must consider the category before choosing the NIT. The opening and closing rank for each NIT for different categories may be different. The opening rank that is applicable for the General Category may not be the same for the SC or ST category. For example, the closing rank of an NIT for the General category is 9400, it may be 12,000 for SC and 18000 for the ST category.
