Manipal Students Receive First Prize

Anish Pai and Ashley Mudaliar of Manipal Academy of Higher Education recently bagged the first prize in National Aerospace Conceptual Design Competition, held in Bangalore, conducted by IIT Bombay and Aeronautical Society for designing an unarmed aerial vehicle that runs on solar energy.

NACHeD II started in November 2018 with five rounds in total. There were about 25 teams that participated in the competition with their designs. In the initial four rounds, students had to research the recommended design and prepare a proposal for the same. In the final stage, teams had to prepare their designs and present it to judges. The teams were asked to design an Unarmed High Altitude Platform to carry out coastal operations to observe changes in the coastal habitats and shoreline for scientific studies.
