MIT Manipal was established in 1957 and is a constituent institute of Manipal University. MIT Manipal became a constituent institute of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Manipal University) in 2000. As per the MIT Manipal admission process for B.Tech courses, candidates have to first fulfill the required eligibility criteria and then appear for Manipal Entrance Test (MET). Candidates with valid scores will be called for online counselling process. MIT Manipal admission to M.Tech courses is determined on the basis of GATE or MET scores. Candidates with GATE scores will be given preference during the MIT Manipal admission procedure. MIT Manipal admissions to MCA courses are done on merit basis. A merit list is prepared and candidates are selected on the basis of their rank. After final selection, candidates can proceed to complete the rest of the MIT Manipal admission formalities.

MIT Manipal has three-story library which is fully air- conditioned and occupies a total area of about 70,000 square feet and can accommodate 800 users at a time. The books, magazines, journals and their back volumes, DVDs and all resources are available for the use of students and faculties.

Marena, is the six-level, centrally-cooled sports complex at MIT Manipal. It is one of the largest and best-equipped sports centers in the country, with a built-up area of 1,42,042 sq feet aimed at ensuring that the fitness regimen of students and staff is not disrupted by the six long months of monsoon in the region. Overall: Campus life is too good than other university. Teaching skills of teacher and student disipilene is much better and the maturity is good in all over the area and language is outstanding.
