The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode is offering a specialized course on communication in association with Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The course is MHRD sponsored Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) for people with a good command over English language.
The Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) is a new program approved by the Union Cabinet aimed to capture the pool of emerging scientists and entrepreneurs at an international level in order to encourage their engagement with Higher Education institutes in India to amplify India’s existing academic resources, fast-track the swiftness of quality reforms required, and raise India's scientific and technological capacity at par with global excellence. GIAN can solve the biggest hurdle of getting premier education institutes like IIT’s, NIT’s, IIM’s etc. listed on the international institute rankings platform.

The Communication course by IIM Kozhikode is designed for working professionals and will focus on objective, relational, and hyperpersonal communication at work. The duration of the course is 5 days between December 18, 2016 and December 22, 2016.
Details of Communication Course by IIM Kozhikode:
- The course will focus on the philosophies and practices of effective communication by examining the interaction context and dynamics of relational status to delivering ideas
- Focus on identification of prejudices, stereotypes, and communication behaviors to avoid barriers to personal relationships with self and others
- The course will be jointly carried out by IIMK Prof. Anupam Das, Syracuse University (USA) Prof. Richard Buttny & Cornell University (USA) Prof. Jodi Cohen
