Scam 1992, the highly successful OTT series, is the first to be included as a case study in the MEM course curriculum of MICA Ahmedabad. Students got to interact with the creators and the actors of the series as a part of this case study.
'Scam 1992', the hugely-successful web Series based on the life of Harshad Mehta, will be studied as a case study at MICA Ahmedabad, one of the best MBA colleges in India for Marketing and Communication.
The Scam 1992 case study will be included as a part of the Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Media and Entertainment Management (PGCPMEM) offered by the institute. Students of the course will be studying the creativity, content and consumer business of India in the case study.
As per the information shared by Prof. Santosh Patra, the Head of MEM at MICA, this will be the first time that an OTT series will be included as a case studies in at MICA. Around 50 students specializing in MEM will be covering all of the verticals of this series. He said that this was one of the best case studies to consider the content, creativity and consumer business if one keeps in mind the changes that are ongoing in the media and content business.

The case study will include one-on-one interviews and discussions by the faculty and students. MICA has already conducted the first online interaction of the students with the Cast and Director of the Series as well as the OTT team last week. The case writing process has been initiated by the Centre for Media and Entertainment Studies, and it will be completed in a year.
As part of the online interaction, students got to hear from Hansal Mehta, the Director of the web series, Sameer Nair, CEO of Applause Entertainment and Shreya Dhanwanthary, the actor playing the role of Sucheta Dalal. The discussion was aimed to increase the understanding of the students about the increase in content consumption on OTT platforms. The team also shared their experiences earned in making the series a success.
Admissions to MICA Ahmedabad are currently ongoing and candidates must apply for the MICAT II 2021 for admission to the institute. The MICAT II Application Form will be available till January 20 and the exam will be held on January 30.
