Delhi University Records 36,000 Admission after Second Cutoff List
Delhi University’s off-campus and south campus colleges witnessed heavy footfall after many colleges dropped their cut-offs by a percentage point.36,000 admissions have been recorded in DU after the second cutoff list.
After the colleges dropped their cutoff marks, the off-campus and south campus college ofDelhi Universitywitnessed a heavier rush for admissions by the students. InVenkateshwara College, which happens to be one of the most popular colleges of the south campus took 170 admissions on Tuesday, 4th July. The college took a total of 439 admissions after therelease of DU second cutoff.
More than 36,000 admissions have been recorded in Delhi University after the second cutoff list. Anju Srivastava, Principal Hindu College informed that Com (Honours), BA (Honours) Economics and Physical Science have seen a high number of admissions.
The admissions conveyer, Ms Latha Narayan said that a lot of applications were received forB.Com, B.Sc (Hons)Mathematicsand B.Sc (Hons) inChemistryand a publication of third merit list in these streams are unlikely. She also informed that the B.Sc (Honours)Electronicssaw a good response in the second cutoff but the B.A.Economicsresponse have not been satisfactory for the high cutoff marks. Only two admissions have been observed in Sri Venkateshwara College in B.A. (Hons) Economics course.
TheShyam Lal Collegesaw a total of 48 admissions after the first cutoff. The most popular course there are B.A.Historyand B.A. Program Combinations. InAurobindo College, a total of 170 students took admissions in the second cutoff making the total number of 2019 admissions 557 in a total of 1,050 seats available in the college. The Principal of Aurobindo College, Prof Vipin Aggarwal said that the first day of the second cutoff marked the highest admissions in a day for the first time. B.Com is one of the most preferred subjects in this year’s admissions in Sri Aurobindo College and will be closed in the third list.

InLakshmibai college, only 108 admissions were noticed on the first cutoff, but on Tuesday, the college witnessed a total of 61 admissions alone. A similar scenario has been noticed inDelhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC)where 40 students took admissions on Tuesday making the total admission number 174 out of 640 UG seats in the college.

However, the opposite scenario has been noticed in the most popular colleges of Delhi University likeHindu College,Kirori Mal College,Ramjas CollegeandMiranda Housewhere only 100 students took admission in the second cutoff. The reason is the colleges have seen almost full admissions in the first cutoff only.
