The University of Delhi has given its approval for launching new courses in 20 DU colleges. The Academic Council (AC) has decided to grant approval for 30 new courses at UG and PG level in 20 DU colleges. Apart from new courses, the AC has also given its nod for increasing 282 seats in existing courses at two colleges such as Hansraj College (seats in B.A course increased from 40 to 200) and Aditi Mahavidhyalaya (seats in B.Sc course increased from 55 to 80). Aditi Mahavidyalaya will also admit 50 more students in B.Com course from the upcoming academic session. Maharshi Valmiki College will also offer 50 additional seats.

DU Introduces Nine New Courses

Delhi University has approved nine new courses recently. A new course on Disability Studies and Literary Representations has also been approved by the Standing Committee on Academic Matters. It is a full-time master’s programme that will be offered by the university's English Department. The new course on Disability Studies and Literary Representations will provide academic and professional opportunities to the students in the respective field.

Prof Hansraj Suman, Academic Council Member informed that the committee has also approved the choice based credit courses for M.A. programmes. The standard committee also advised to include the views of Louis Braille and Helen Keller while stressing on the inclusion of project work in the course.

Apart from this, the committee also discussed that students should get relevant internship opportunities according to their course and introduction of modern technologies and audio-visual lab facilities are vital to make teaching more interesting for the students.
