One of the constituent colleges of Delhi University, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College is situated in New Delhi. The college was initially named after the ninth Guru of Sikhs Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, called as Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa (Evening) College. It was established in 1973 but in the academic year of 1988-89, the college was renamed to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa Post-Graduate College (Evening) after it secured the approval to begin M.Com. courses. Eventually, in 2005 the college was converted into a full-fledged day college and renamed after the first Sikh Guru as Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College.
The college is managed by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee and is registered under UGC Act 1956. SGNDKC, New Delhi has been accredited by the National Assesment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), affiliated by the University of Delhi and granted minority status by the National Commission for Minority Education Institutions.
Inspired by the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the college constantly strives to achieve academic excellence as well as the all-round development of its students. The vast beautiful campus of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College of Delhi University has the strength of about 2000 students enrolled in various courses that the college has to offer. The college offers 11 undergraduate courses and 2 postgraduate courses managed by 13 different departments.
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College has world-class infrastructure. Library of the college is fully air-conditioned and computerized with over 70 thousand books and is subscribed to various journals as per college departments’ needs. It also has a number of academic as well as cultural societies to ensure the overall development of its students. With the college’s helpful involvement, the societies are doing well in college as well as outside the college.
