Delhi University’s third cut-off list as the list remained almost stagnant by only a marginal dip in the cut-off required for various colleges.
There hasn’t been much relief after the announcement of Delhi University’s third cut-off list as the list remained almost stagnant by only a marginal dip in the cut-off required for various colleges. DU announced its third cut-off list on Sunday, July 10. Although seats remain vacant in some of the popular colleges of the university, admissions to various courses have been closed in several colleges.
The cut-off for Commerce and Economics still lingers between 95% to 98%. Admissions to B.Com (Hons.) course for the session 2016 have been closed in 16 out of 53 colleges offering the course includingDaulat Ram College,Aditi Mahavidyalaya,Acharya Narendra Dev College, Kirori Mal College, Bharti College andKalindi College. 7 out of 34 colleges offering Economics (Hons.) have closed admissions.

B.Com (Hons.) which ranked highest inDU First cut-off list 2016for Ramjas College at 99.25%, has now dropped down to 96.5%. Admissions to Commerce and Economic courses are still open in colleges likeShri Ram College of Commerce(SRCC) at cut-off as high as 97.25%. Other colleges that are still offering the courses areHindu College, Hansraj College, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Kirori Mal College andSri Venkateswara College.
Although 22 out of 42 colleges offering History (Hons.) have closed admissions, popular colleges such as Hansraj College,Ramjas College(95.75%) andKirori Mal College(95%) are still offering the course.
Admissions to Political Science have been closed in 15 out of the 43 colleges that offer the course. The course is still available at Ramjas College at 96% and other colleges such as LSR, Sri Venkateswara,IP College for Womenand Miranda.
English Honours that happens to be the most popular course among students applying for DU in 2016 is still available with many colleges. The course is still available at popular colleges likeLady Shri Ram College for Women(LSR) at 97% with a dip of 0.5%, Hansraj College and Hindu College. The course had been closed in 6 colleges, most of which are off-campus colleges such as Bharti College and Deshbadhu College.
Science courses such as Botany, Chemistry and Physics Honour have been closed inGargi Collegeand have been filling up fast in other colleges as well.Miranda Househas also closed admissions to Botany Honours and BSc in Life Sciences courses.

Mathematics (Hons.) is still available with colleges like Hansraj College at 96% and Kirori Mal College at 95.75%. Admissions to the course have been closed at 8 out of 36 colleges offering Mathematics (Hons.).
Chemistry (Hons.) has also been closed in 6 of the total colleges offering the course but is available at Ramjas College and Miranda House with a requirement of 95% and Hindu College at 96%.
Many of the off-campus colleges have been closing admissions fast such as Deshbandhu which has closed admissions to courses like Honours in Sanskrit, Political Science and History. Arts, Psychology and Sanskrit courses have been closed inMata Sundri Collegefor women. Admissions to most of the evening colleges still remain open in most courses having cut-offs ranging from 60 to 90%.
