The Patna campus of Birla Institute of Technology was established in 2006, as a result of an initiative from the Government of Bihar. It is situated between Bihar Veterinary College and Jai Prakash Narayan Airport in Patna and has a 29-acre urban campus which provides modern academic facilities, staff quarters, hostels, a dispensary, sports amenities, and an auditorium. BIT Patna offers various programs like BTech, BBA, BCA, MTech, MBA, BArch, BPharm, BHMCT, MCA, MPharm, MSc, and PhD in various disciplines. The institute has a great placement record with many prestigious companies coming to the campus for recruitment like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Bain & Company, Walmart, Amazon, Flipkart and many more. 

Admissions are entrance-based, accepting JEE Main for B.Tech, CUET UG for UG courses, CUET PG for PG courses, CAT/CMAT/MAT for MBA, GATE for M.Tech, and UGC NET for Ph.D. Birla Institute of Technology, Patna has a decent placement record, with approximately 87% placement rate. In CSE, 100% of students get placed, while in ECE and EEE, 68% and 72% of students get placed, respectively. The ongoing placement highest is 45 LPA off-campus and 23 LPA on-campus, while the median is 11.5 LPA. The JOSSA Round 6 Seat Allotment Result has been officially released. This round concludes the seat allotment process under JOSSA 2025. GATE admissions are closed for this year, next year registrations will begin in August 2025, and the exam will be conducted in February 2026
