What is the Difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced?

Note: The OBC-NCL JEE Main registration requires you to complete the General category registration for JEE Advanced because you cannot obtain your certification past April 1 2026.

Common Registration Errors in JEE Advanced Exam

After going through the past exam cycle, it is evident that many applications face delays or rejection due to simple clerical errors. Here is how to ensure your registration is successful:

The "Buffer" Rule for Certificates: Ensure your Category Certificates (OBC-NCL, EWS) are issued after April 1, 2026. If you use an older certificate, you will be moved to the non-reservation category.

Avoid Scanning Through Phones: While mobile scanning apps are convenient, they often produce shadows or "warped" edges.

File Size vs. Quality: If a document must be under 300KB, check that the digital text remains legible. If you can’t read it on your screen, the verifying officer can’t either.

Matching Credentials: The matching credentials need to show your full name, your father's name, and your birth date exactly as they appear on your Class 10th certificate. The verification flag activates when any minor spelling errors appear in your JEE Main data that do not match your submitted documents.

The "Final Preview" Habit: Before hitting the 'Submit' button, download the uploaded files from the portal to verify you haven't accidentally swapped files.

The JEE Advanced 2026 examination requires students to prepare themselves through study methods that extend beyond common examination preparation. You need to give meticulous attention to administrative details. You must make sure you upload the right documents and fill out the JEE application on time. You need to track official IIT Roorkee announcements, which will guide you through this challenging selection process. Your path to admission in India's top engineering colleges will begin only after you establish the correct approach and comprehend the eligibility requirements.
