NIT Patna admission for 2025-26 is ongoing. NIT Patna offers B.Tech, M.Tech, Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, M.Arch, and B.Arch courses. For B.Tech and B.Tech+M.Tech admission through JoSAA/CSAB, seat allocation for JoSAA Round 3 is scheduled for Wednesday, 2nd July 2025, at 10:00 AM. Registration for NEUT-2025 seat allocation is open from 23rd June to 30th June 2025. The fourth admission list for IIT JAM will be declared on June 30, 2025. Offer letters for IIT JAM can be downloaded from the candidate portal starting July 9, 2025. The annual fees at NIT Patna range from Rs 15,000 to Rs 5,00,000. Admission to B.Tech is based on JEE Main scores followed by JoSAA counselling, while M.Tech and M.Plan admissions are through GATE and CCMT counselling.

August 28, 2025GATE 2026 registration is now open at gate2026.iitg.ac.in for admission to M.Tech and research programs. Candidates can submit their applications without a late fee until September 28, 2025, while the deadline with a late fee is October 9, 2025. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two sessions.
August 25, 2025The GATE 2026 registration has been postponed to August 28, 2025. Regular applications close on September 28, with late submissions accepted until October 9. Exams will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, and results on March 19.
August 06, 2025The GATE 2026 schedule is now available on gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Registration for GATE 2026 will begin on August 25 and will close on September 25 without a late fee, and on October 6 with a late fee. The exam is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The results will be announced on March 19, 2026.
About NIT Patna
NIT Patna was established in 1886 as Bihar School of Training, which was later renamed Bihar College of Engineering in 2004. The National Institute of Technology Patna, or NIT Patna, is now a fully autonomous technical institute functioning directly under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). NIT Patna is one of the top engineering colleges in Bihar. It is the 6th oldest engineering institute in India. The National Institute of Technology status was given to Bihar College of Engineering as it lost its only Regional College of Engineering (REC) situated in Jamshedpur after the separation of Jharkhand from Bihar in 2000. According to the National Institutes of Technology Act 2007, it has been granted the Institute of National Importance. It also has accreditation from the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
