NID Final Result for M.Des Admissions 2020 Declared

National Institute of Design or NID announced the result for NID DAT Mains for M.Des admissions on August 22, 2020. Candidates can check their NID DAT result 2020 for M.Des by entering their email ID and date of birth on the official website of the exam. NID DAT Mains result 2020 for B.Des/ GDPD courses was announced on July 24, 2020.

The entrance exam conducted by NID is known as the Design Aptitude Test (DAT). Initially, the applicants have to appear for the DAT Prelims 2020 exam. Those who qualify in the prelims will be eligible for DAT Mains 2020 exam. The detailed information for NID Entrance Exam 2020 is elaborated below.

Note: The course of GDPD has been discontinued at all the campuses of NID and the seats of GDPD have been converted to the seats of B.Des. Hence, all NID campuses will now offer B.Des as one of the courses.

The NID seat allotment list for B.Des 2020 has been released on August 4, 2020. All the exam takers who have been mentioned in the list are required to pay the token fee and upload the necessary documents by August 11, 2020.

NID DAT B.Des and GDPD Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that candidates have to fulfil in order to appear for the NID DAT exam for B.Des and GDPD have been explained below.

  • Class 12 is the minimum qualification for seeking admission to B.Des course.
  • The upper limit for seeking admission to B.Des course at NID is 20 (except reserved categories) years as on June 30, 2020.
  • The upper age limit for the reserved categories is 23 years as on June 30, 2020.
  • Students who are pursuing Class 12 can also register for the entrance exam.

NID DAT M.Des Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to M.Des at NID have to check the details mentioned below. They have to fulfil the M.Des eligibility criteria of NID DAT in order to be allowed to appear for the exam.

  • Bachelor’s degree is the minimum qualification required for the admission to the M.Des course.
  • The upper age limit for seeking admission to M.Des course at NID is 30 years (except reserved categories) as on June 30, 2020.
  • The upper limit for the candidates belonging to reserved categories is 33 years as on June 30, 2020.
  • The upper age limit for the PwD candidates is 35 years as on June 30, 2020.

NID DAT Application Process 2020

The steps given below explain the application process of the NID DAT entrance exam.

  • The application process for the entrance exam conducted by NID is completely online.
  • Visit the official website and click on the ‘Admissions 2020’ link on the homepage.
  • Sign Up first and then proceed with the online form filling for the NID entrance exam.
  • Upload the scanned images of your photo and signature in the appropriate size and format as indicated there.
  • Submit the online application form and pay the examination fee in online mode.
  • General category candidates have to pay Rs. 2,000 as application fee.
  • Reserved category candidates must pay Rs. 1,000 as the application fee.

NID DAT B.Des, GDPD and M.Des Selection Process

The selection process for all the courses offered at NID has been given below. Candidates are required to appear for the exam after which they are selected for the course depending on the following factors.

  • Performance in DAT Prelims and DAT Mains is the major criterion.
  • Studio test will be conducted for the candidates who qualify in DAT Mains followed by a personal interview.
  • NID DAT Mains 2020 for B.Des and GDPD will be held online. The applicants will have to be present for an online interaction round.
  • Final admission will be based on the combined performance of the applicants in all the stages of the selection process.
