Seat Intake and Reservation for NID DAT

National Institute of Design (NID) is one of the most prestigious design institutes in the nation. The institute refreshes its reservation policy and seat matrix each year and updates them as per the requirement. In 2019, all the campuses of NID had 100 seats for the B.Des programme. However, in the year 2020, 28 more seats were added. Similarly, for the M.Des programme, the total number of seats increased from 275 to 347. For 2021, the same seat matrix as 2020 is being followed.

Apart from these figures, the total seats for overseas candidates also increased for both the aforementioned programmes. Candidates are advised to go through the entire article in order to create a clear picture of reservation policy and seat intake at NID as it helps them in understanding their chances of getting admission in the institute.

According to the notification issued by the conducting body, the course of Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) has been discontinued from 2020 onwards. All the seats that were allocated to the GDPD course offered at the various NID campuses have been converted to the seats of B.Des. Therefore, all NID campuses have started offering B.Des now.
