XLRI Adventure and Nature Club along with Fun Expedia organised Everest base camp trek for the faculty and students of various B-Schools. The Everest base camp trek turned out to be a revelation for students.

XLRI Students Take Leadership Lessons at Himalayas

Students of Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), popularly known as Xavier School of Management - Jamshedpur got an exclusive opportunity to learn mandatory topics of leadership in one of the most exotic locations in India, i.e., Himalayas. XLRI Adventure and Nature Club along with Fun Expedia organised Everest base camp trek for the faculty and students of various B-Schools national wide.

Around 100 students from the popular B-Schools across the country such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Ranchi, FMS, XIMB, IMT, SP Jain,NMIMS etc participated in the camp. Association Dean of XLRI Jamshedpur, Professor Ashish Phani and alumnus of IIM Bangalore and XLRI were also present at the camp.

Everest base camp trek runs for 15 days that involve a bunch of activities such as trekking, reaching the Everest base camp at an altitude of almost 17,600ft.

The Everest base camp trek turned out to be a revelation for students. One of the XLRI students who took part in the trekking expressed that he attained confidence to trek any other hilly ranges in the work. The Everest base camp was challenging, and it created a sense of self-confidence in students.

The event builds self-confidence in students, prepares them to face odd challenges in career etc. such events are necessary for management students apart from academies so that they can shine in the career in a better way.

All the participants of the trekking camp understood and realised the essential qualities of leadership like personal integrity, decisive action, strategic thinking etc. Students also got an idea of converting the abstract concepts into practice is often an elusive process.
