IIM Shillong Bags YES Bank Transformation Series 2016
After a tough competition among the top 15 finalist groups, Team North East Royals from IIM-Shillong were named victorious of the YES BANK Transformation Series.
YES Bank Transformation Series, conducted its fifth edition this year and received an overwhelming test to India's future business pioneers to think past the standard norm. After demonstrating their value in financial innovation space, the finale took them to strange domains as they concentrated intensely to concoct problematic advancements, which would drive the use of solar energy in the nation.

North East Royals team proposed a whole Ecosystem of Village Entrepreneurs, posting the part of "Solar Sahayaks" and an installment demonstrating embracing a pay-as-you-go model. They played a significant role in proposing the online commercial centre model, tending to the key client contemplations and listing an orderly arrangement of offerings.
Plutus team set out a guide for expanding solar energy utilisation fundamentally through the online commercial centre named suDhan, a portal which means to coordinate the results of existing solar companies with pay-as-you-go distribution model for recharge with offline and online applications.

Heisenberg team proposed a smart co-operative society model upheld by a Solar Credit Trust, which would be an enrolled firm to sell/trade solar Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
The champs got cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh, with the first runner-up receiving Rs. 2 lakh, and the second-runner-up winning a prize of Rs. 1 lakh. A total of Rs. 10 lakh cash prize was disseminated across the campus champions of the challenge.
