Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT)  is an autonomous body run by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It was established in 1963. IIFT chose its first-ever campus outside Delhi, which is situated in Salt Lake City Kolkata, West Bengal, in 2006.

 It was found to contribute to the building of skills in the sector of trade all over the world. Indian Institute of Foreign Trade got accreditation by NAAC with an 'A' Grade twice and was conferred as Deemed University. Once in 2005 and another time in 2015.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade 2023 Admission Eligibility

For MBA course (Full time)

Applicants to MBA programmes at IIFT are not restricted by their age. However, a bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of 50% marks for general or open category students and a minimum of 45% for SC/ST/PWD students.

For the MBA course (Weekend batch)

To be eligible for the course, you need a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with three years of work experience in the managerial cadre. Also, there is no age bar to secure admission to this course. 
 

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade MBA admission depends on the student's performance in the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade MBA Entrance Test, or IIFT Entrance Test. The test is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). To fill out the application form, student must visit the NTA official website first. The steps to fill out the application form for IIFT Entrance Test are listed below. 

1. First, visit the online application portal of NTA for the IIFT Entrance Test application.
2. Students need to apply for online registration on the website. 
3. Then the student is requested to fill out the application form for the exam. The application form requires the input of personal details, academic information, residential information, information of guardian, contact details (phone number, email id), and other information. Students need to provide a valid email id and phone number as the institute will contact you through those mediums in case it is required. The email ID should be handy; they must check them often for any updates. 
4. After filling out the online application form, you need to submit scanned copies of your recent photograph (coloured) and a picture of your signature. 
5. Lastly, students must pay the IIFT examination fee to complete the application procedure. 
6. Applicants are advised to check all the details carefully they have provided in the application form. They must ensure all information is correct, as all the details will be verified before admission to the institute.

The application fee for the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Entrance Examination is Rs 2,500. Candidates applying for this examination need to pay the application fee after filling out the examination application form. 

A Need-Based Scholarship programme is offered by the IIFT, where the institute pays interest subsidies for 27 months from when the loan is taken from a bank. Applicants must have taken out a student loan and have a family income of less than Rs 4.50 lakh per year to be eligible for the IIFT scholarship.

• Library Facility:- The Library of IIFT is the hub of information which contains almost around 3720 books in nearly all areas, most relevant and related to the management, which helps in the growth of the students. Also, the library contains around 73 National and International journals related to business and management, allowing students to understand the trade and various policies. In addition, the Institute library contains the facility of E-library along with a collection of resources like CD'S, DVDs, and Floppy Disks for the ease of the students.
