Female enrolment has gone up in the Executive MBA programme at IIM Calcutta. The overall percentage of females increased from 9% to 11% in the current academic session.
Indian Insitute of Management, Calcutta witnessed a rise in the number of female candidates for the Executive MBA programme this year. The percentage of women candidates last year was 9% but the number has gone up to 11% for this academic year. MBAEx or Executive MBA is a one-year long course offered by top IIMs for working professionals looking forward to doing better in their respective fields.
The current batch of MBAEx is the 13th batch of IIM-C which has about 63 candidates from different backgrounds. Most of the candidates have work experience of eight years or more. As per the IIM-C release, the average age of the class is 31.
Chairperson of MABEx, Amit Dhiman expressed his views on the matter by stating facts about the establishment of the programme. He mentioned that the world is recognising the MBAEx programme now by ranking it among the best Executive MBA courses all over the world.

MBA Ex programme of IIM-C has seen a global presence since 2017 and has won many awards. At the annual global ranking by FT MBA, the institute acquired 95th position. Whereas, as per the FT MBA global ranking for 2019, the programme acquired 49th position.
What is IIM Calcutta's MBAEx Programme?
The MBA Programme offered by IIM Calcutta came into existence in 2006. The upcoming 2020-21 batch of MBAEx would be the 14th batch of IIM-C. The programme helps mid-career executives to enhance their skill sets so that they can fulfil the roles of top management efficiently. Candidates are selected on the basis of GMAT score, Personal Interview and Group Discussion. Classes usually start in mid-April.
