Can B.Arch be Pursued through Distance Education?

Students can pursue B.Arch through distance mode at limited COA-approved universities. Know eligibility, practical requirements, and essential guidelines.

Yes, B.Arch can be pursued through distance education, though options are limited compared to regular mode. It's IGNOU and Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, among other universities in India, that offer B.Arch under distance learning mode. Such B. Arch programs do require some practical components and studio work that will need physical attendance at definite intervals. This program duration is five years and was framed to accommodate working professionals or students who would not be able to pursue regular classes but wish to pursue an architectural career.

Students must check whether the distance program is recognised as approved by the Council of Architecture (COA) before enrolling, since this is critical for the degree being accepted in professional practice.
