CBSE Class 12 Legal Studies Weightage 2026 provides the information about the total units and marks allotted to each of them. In total, there are 8 units in the syllabus. Among all the units, the third unit, i.e., Topics in Law-I Business Laws, consists of the highest marks, i.e., 20. Overall, the theory exam of the subject will be conducted for 80 marks and the remaining 20 marks will be reserved for project based assessment. CBSE Class 12 Legal Studies Weightage 2026 Project Work

In addition to the CBSE Class 12 Legal Studies theory exam, the board will provide marks through the project-based assessment. The project will be of 20 marks. It can be highly scoring for students to improve their overall score of the subject.

CBSE Class 12 Legal Studies Question Paper Blueprint 2026

Following are the important points to be focused upon when preparing for the Legal Studies exam.

  • The Legal Studies Question paper is divided into 4 parts - A, B, C, and D.
  • Section A includes Multiple choice questions from question number 1 to 20.
  • Section B consists of questions worth 2 marks each from question number 21 to 28. These can be answered in 40 words.
  • Section C will include questions from 29 to 36. Each question will be of 3 marks each. The students should write answers of 100 words each.
  • Section D will include questions from 37 to 40. Each question will be of 5 marks and the answers should not exceed 140 words each.
