Introduction of On-Screen Evaluation for CBSE Class 12 Board Exams
CBSE introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 board exams starting with the 2026 examinations. CBSE made this announcement via an official notice on February 9, 2026, to affiliated schools, aiming for greater efficiency and transparency in evaluation. Class 10 will be continuing with the physical evaluation. This new move will enable teachers to “remain in their schools and continue regular duties." The Class 12 answer sheets will be scanned and uploaded online for evaluation on computer screens, instead of checking physical answer sheets manually. The Council is expecting that the evaluators can complete the evaluation process in 9 days, as compared to 12 days earlier. To reduce calculation errors, marks will be awarded question-wise, with an automatic totaling system by software. Also CheckCBSE Class 12 Result 2026
