Admission Procedure to Junior Colleges in Mumbai to Undergo Changes

The admission procedure to junior colleges in Mumbai has undergone some changes. The changes have been made to make the procedure easier and avoid confusion, unlike this year’s admission process. The changes will come into effect from the admission process that is going to place in 2017. As per the revised changes, the candidates will be allowed to make changes in the options after the completion of each round of allotment process.

The changes have been made as most of the parents and students complained to the concerned authorities that this year’s admission procedure was tedious and confusion. The explained that it is tough and confusing for the students to fill 35 options of courses and colleges. Hence, the government has decided to cut down the number of options and now the candidates will have the choice to in options after the end of each round of allotment.

In 2016, the department is planning to make the entire admission process online. In the year 2016, filling up the application form and seat allotment were done online. As per the changes, the students will be enabled to confirm their seat and pay the course fee online. They need not go to the college and pay the examination fee.

According to sources, the department is planning to hire an external agency to set up guidance centres. So far, schools have been working as guidance centres and filling up the application forms, however, there have been rumours that some of the schools are influencing the students’ preferences and the managements are filling the names of their schools in the first few preferences.
