After 13 Years, Dr B.R Ambedkar University Gets B++ Grade From NAAC

Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar University in Agra after a gap of over 13 years was awarded B++ rating by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

NAAC team judges educational organisations on multiple scales. The grading is done under four main categories namely A, B, C and D, which denotes very good, good, satisfactory and unsatisfactory performance respectively. On the basis of NAAC ranking, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) assigns funds to varsities across the country.

The last time when the university was visited in 2004 by an NAAC team, it was given B grade. In the new assessment, the university has been credited a B++ grade, which is an enhanced ranking. Thus the university will now be eligible for more grants from the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Arvind Kumar Dixit, the vice-chancellor (VC) of University appreciated the cooperation of university administration, employees, teachers and students which have resulted in the improved grade. This will make the university among the top institutions of the state. He also shared their aim to become an 'A' grade institute of the state.

GS Sharma, the public relations officer of the institute revealed that the varsity has got the best score among all the twenty-seven state universities of Uttar Pradesh. The cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of the university is 2.79 out of 4.

The NAAC team carried the inspection of the varsity from 24 ^th April to 26 ^th April 2017, through the assessment of its curriculum, finance and administration efficiency, research and innovation work, infrastructure, placement assistance, sports facilities, and others.
