AMU Student Receives Young Scientists Award
Abdul Hannan Mustajab, a B.Sc. Student of AMU receives the Young Scientists Award for developing the device “Environmental Monitoring Device '' at a National Conference held at Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
Abdul Hannan Mustajab receives the Young Scientists Award for his idea to develop an “Environmental Monitoring Device”. Mustajab is a B.Sc. Mathematics student at Aligarh Muslim University. The algorithm to design the device was presented by him via the Internet at a National Conference on 'Environmental Sustainability: Innovations, Translation Dimensions and Way Forward' which was conducted at Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.
The idea behind this project was to create a device that could monitor the pollution in the environment as well as monitor the temperature, humidity and environmental conditions in real-time.
According to one of the statements released by the university, the idea and effort of Mustajab were highly appreciated by the members of the panel. AMU Public Relations Office, Omar Saleem Peerzada said that Mustajab wishes to install the device at AMU.

Mustajab said that once the device is installed, it will help the university to measure the amount of carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrous oxide, PM 1, PM 2 and PM10 as well as noise. The information will be sent to Cloud for remote analysis and management. The device can also be used to analyse the quality of air, particles and noise data and detect the vehicle flow and concentration of traffic at critical points. He also added that it is high time that devices and technology are developed to monitor the environment and measure climate change. The remote sensing device will help the authorities to enforce emission control policies.
