AP EDCET-2016 Counselling Postponed

The Andhra PradeshEDCET-2016admission counselling which is scheduled to commence from27-July-2016has been postponed to8-August-2016. The reason for the postponement is most of theB.Edcolleges failed to send the details of their colleges to the Universities and this lead to a delay in the confirmation of fee structure. The convener of AP EDCET Mr Kumara Swamy gave details about the revised schedule of counselling.

Revised Schedule:-

• The verification of certificates will commence on8-August-2016and continues till10-August-2016.
• The process of choosing web options will take place from9-August-2016to11-August-2016.
• The seats will be allotted on16-August-2016.
• The classes for the first year students will commence from17-August-2016.

There has been a much delay for the EDCET counselling. The AP EDCET examination was held on 23-May-2016. It has been two months since the completion of the examination and the authorities failed the conduct the counselling.

This year, the EDCET examination received poor response across the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The main reason is the government increased the duration of course for two years and the Andhra Pradesh government is taking up rationalising the teachers in government schools which don't give scope for recruitment of new teachers. The examination received poor response especially in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts.
