Coursera Introduces Six New Online Degrees
- Coursera has launched six new courses in association with top universities of the world.
- They are working with their partner universities to introduce such online degrees that they are affordable, scalable and modular for students.
Digital learning platform Coursera has launched six new online degrees with the top universities of the world such as:
- University of Illinois Urbana Champaign - Master of Computer Science
- Arizona State University - Master of Computer Science
- University of London - Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
- Imperial College of London - Global Master of Public Health
- University of Michigan - Master of Public Health and Master of Applied Data Science

According to Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO Coursera, MOOCs have an excellent reach and are powerful gateways to acquire degrees. He also said that they are working with university partners to build more such degrees for their online learning platform and that these degrees are affordable scalable and modular.
They wish to design more degrees like these that will provide students with modular credentials at all stages of the learning process. As per the sources, 50% of the students who apply for the degrees on Coursera prefer to first enrol themselves in the open online courses with their university partners. Students love the idea of exploring the open course first and have an option to decide later whether they want a full degree or not while earning valuable credentials.

The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign is already associated with Coursera and already offers degrees such as master of computer science in data science, master of science in accountancy and master of business administration. Apart from these three, the university will offer a master of computer science as well.
