The CSIR NET December 2025 examination will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode in the following two parts with subject-wise papers and a uniform marking scheme.

• Total duration: 3 hours
• Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
• Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Subjects: Life, Chemical, Mathematical, Physical & Earth Sciences
• Marking: +2 marks for each correct answer (differs by part)
• Negative marking: Yes (usually 25% deduction)
• The paper is divided into Part A, Part B & Part C
• Part A: General aptitude
• Parts B & C: Subject-specific questions
• The total score is 200 per subject (slightly different pattern by discipline)
