Delhi Government Launches Constitution at 70 Campaign in Delhi Schools

The Education Minister, Mr Manish Sisodia has announced the launch of the first phase of the Desh Bhakti curriculum. This year teenagers in schools will be taught the Constitutional values through the Constitution at 70 campaign, which is expected to last three months and end late in November.

In a bid to inculcate an idea of patriotism and what the Constitution of India entails for our country, the Delhi Government has announced the release of the first phase of “Desh Bhakti” curriculum. As per official sources, the Government has launched the “Constitution at 70” campaign in the schools of Delhi.

The Education Minister, Mr Manish Sisodia announced the release of the “Constitution at 70”, stating that the launch of the campaign is the first phase of the Desh Bhakti Curriculum. He added that the campaign will stretch over a period of three months, during which the students will be exposed to the values that are mentioned in the Constitution of India. Furthermore, the minister stated that the campaign has been set to finish on 26th November 2019.

In a tweet posted by the Education Minister, he stated that the Constitution at 70 has been launched to instil the Constitutional values of Equality, Fraternity and Liberty. He stated that in order to truly love our country, India, it is important to understand “the vision of our founding fathers”.

Sources state that the campaign has been launched for the students studying from classes 6 to 11. They add that the Directorate of Education has excused the students appearing for their board examinations this academic year. As per the official notice, the students will be asked to sit for an hour-long session, where they will be taught about the different Constitutional values, viz. Liberty, equality and fraternity, every week.

As per sources, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on 14th August, that the Delhi Government has planned the launch of Desh Bhakti curriculum from the next academic year. It is important for school students to delve slightly into what makes India the country it is. Only when people truly understand the ultimate goal and developing the country to a place where everyone can live peacefully with each other, will the country be prosperous.
