Delhi Govt to Establish State Sanskrit Education Council

The Government of Delhi has announced that it will set up State Sanskrit Education Council for the state. The decision has been made by the state government in order to improve the quality of formal education of the Sanskrit language in the national capital.

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has asked the education department to evaluate the representations received by the Delhi government related to Sanskrit education at school and college levels.

In an official order released by the minister, he added that, the quality of formal education of Sanskrit language is deteriorating in Delhi. He also added that various complaints have been filed by stakeholders regarding the issues of Sanskrit education in schools, colleges as well as universities.

The minister added that introducing a Sanskrit Education Council in the national capital will help in solving these issues. Furthermore, it will help in improving the quality of Sanskrit education in the country, Sisodia added.

The department of education in the state will determine the representations and will handle the tasks required to establish the Delhi State Sanskrit Education Council. A timeline for setting up the Sanskrit Council in the state has not been declared yet.

However, the minister also informed that detailed action plan will also be laid down that will comprise a step-by-step road map in order to successfully set up the Delhi State Sanskrit Education Council.
