• Post-Graduation with 55% aggregate marks in the applied subject of Teaching from a UGC-recognised Indian University, or a foreign university approved by the respective government of that country

• The applicant must have passed the National Eligibility Test (UGC_NET) held by the UGC or the CSIR till its validity is active

• A PhD degree in the applied field awarded by a university in the top 500 universities and has been ranked in any of the following rankings

1. Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 

2. Times Higher Education (THE)

3. Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by Shanghai Jiao Tong University
