DU Website Crashes Under Heavy Traffic during Day-1 of Counselling
The unexpected server crash led to delay in the process of admissions on the Day-1
In an initiative to make the admissions throughonline modehas been disrupted due to the crash of website ofDelhi Universityon the first day of theUG counselling. The students faced difficulty in procuring digital admit cards from the websites. The website has been crashed due to the heavy traffic. Officials confirmed that the candidates who are not a part of first merit list also logged into the website and was responsible for the crashing of the website. Moreover, top most colleges likeRamjas Collegereceived only27 admissionson the first day of the counselling.

Till last year the process of admission was conducted in offline mode and the candidates used to fill up the applications at the venue of the counselling. This year, as a change the University has introducedonline admissionprocess and did not expect the heavy rush. It was quite unexpected.
Most of the students who came from distant places opined that the previous system of offline admissions is far better than the online process. The high cut-offs also paved the way for the poor response to the counselling. Top most colleges in Delhi with high cut-offs received very low admissions on the first day compared to the previous year most of the candidates are eagerly waiting for the second cut-offs list which will be announced by4thJuly or 5-July-2016.
