Eminent educationist Mr. Amreesh Chandra, Trustee and Executive Principal of St. Paul’s School said that India needs to have international education institutions. The education institutes in the country must be developed on par with international standards to attract the international students. To put it simply, India must become an education destination. If the system of education develops on par with global standards, it avoids the native students going to foreign countries for higher studies.

He asserted that the education system in the country is looked upon as liberal perspective rather than commercial industry. The education sector in India is facing many challenges which have to be overcome with proper planning.

He elaborated that education infrastructure is broadly divided into two categories. One is physical infrastructure, and the other is academic infrastructure, which includes curriculum, teaching, faculty and so forth. He opined that there must be separate education economic zones in every state which enable the education institutions to acquire loans for the development of education infrastructure.

He also asserted that while the government is planning to set up new IITs and IIMs, it also needs to think about the number of institutes offering qualification for teachers. More teacher training colleges must come up in future. Apart from imparting subject to the students, there is also a greater need to impart communication skills.
