GATE 2022 Chemistry (CY) Question Paper Analysis, Answer Key

The GATE 2022 Chemistry exam was successfully conducted on 6th February by IIT Kharagpur and this piece contains a detailed analysis of the same as per the feedback from the test-takers. Some major highlights regarding the GATE 2022 CY paper are as follows - 

• The candidates reported this year's GATE 2022 Chemistry paper was tougher than the previous year

• The organic questions were easier compared to the previous year

• The paper was easy for those candidates who had completely gone through their M.Sc syllabi

• Candidates who had prepared from the GATE and NET syllabi also found the GATE 2022 CY paper to be in the range of easy and moderate

• OMC questions were easy

• Most of the students found the GATE 2022 Chemistry paper to be difficult and time-consuming 

• The MSQs were quite tricky

• Expected cutoff for GATE 2022 CY paper would be around 25 to 30

• 18 questions were asked from Organic Chemistry

• 17 questions were asked from Inorganic Chemistry

• 20 questions were asked from Physical Chemistry

• Experts say that the B.Sc students might not perform well in this year's GATE 2022 CY paper compared to the M.Sc candidates
