The GATE 2020 answer key will be released by IIT Delhi on the exam's official website. The answer keys for GATE 2020 and question papers will be available set-wise at gate.iitm.ac.in. Candidates can now calculate their probable scores by comparing their answers with the GATE 2020 answer keys. By calculating their probable scores, candidates will get an idea of their chances of admission in the desired institute. For calculating the probable score, GATE candidates must use the GATE 2020 marking scheme prescribed in the GATE 2020 Exam Pattern.
Candidates will also get the opportunity to challenge the GATE 2020 answer key within a specific time span. They will have to pay an amount of Rs 500 to do so. It is to be noted that all the objections made by the candidates should be supported by valid documents. If the objections are found to be valid a fresh answer key will be released by the examination conducting authority. In case the objections are not justifiable by documents, they will be considered to be null and void. Apart from this, examination authority, i.e IIT Delhi will also release the response sheet for all the papers by the second week of February 2020. All the candidates who appear in the entrance will be able to access the response sheets by entering certain credentials such as enrollment ID/email address and password.

Candidates who are unhappy with the solutions given in the GATE 2020 answer key will be able to challenge it on proper grounds. Given below are the steps which have to be followed in order to do so:
Candidates are required to click on the link to challenge GATE 2020 answer key.
They should then choose the “Contest Answer Key” option on the web page of the entrance.
Nextly, the candidates will be redirected to the payment gateway.
Payment of Rs 500 through the online mode. It is to be noted that the NRI candidates will have to pay US $ 10.
Candidates will have to correctly enter the question numbers which they want to challenge.
They should attach the necessary documents before submitting the objection.
Note: The documents uploaded by the candidates should be in the prescribed format.
Along with the answer key, candidates will also be able to download GATE 2020 response sheet. The steps to check it are being provided below:
Candidates should login to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
They will have to enter certain personal credentials such as date of birth, registration id and enrollment number or email id.
Then the candidates should click on the “view response sheet” to view the response sheet for GATE 2020.
Nextly, they will be able to see the response sheet on screen.
It is advisable for the candidates to download the response sheet in Pdf format.

Firstly, calculate the total number of correct attempts and allocate the marks accordingly and then calculate the overall correct answer marks.
After this, the candidate has to calculate the total negative marks for incorrect answers/efforts.
It must be noted that only MCQs has negative marking. There is no negative marking for NAT questions in GATE 2020 examination.
Total Marks = Total marks secured for the correct response- Negative marks for the incorrect response.
