IIT Guwahati will commence the M.Tech admission process 2023 via the GATE 2023 scores once the GATE exam 2023 is over. The institute is yet to announce the official GATE admission dates 2023 for M.Tech courses. However, the candidates can take a look at the tentative admission dates to get an idea of the admission process. IIT Guwahati M.Tech Admission Process through GATE 2023

GATE qualifiers will get admission in the M.Tech course at IIT Guwahati only if they clear the GATE cutoff of the institute. Candidates who clear the cutoff will be offered admission on the basis of their GATE score and past academic performance. For most of the M.Tech specialisations offered by IIT Guwahati, admission will be solely offered through the GATE score. For some courses, the institute will invite the eligible candidates to take part in the written test and personal interview. In such cases, admission is offered only after assessing the performance of candidates in GATE, written tests, and personal interviews.

Candidates shortlisted for admission will have to pay the course fee and report to the Institute on or before the stipulated date. IIT Guwahati decides the fee structure of the MTech course before the commencement of the admission process. The fee is charged per semester, and students need to pay an additional amount if they wish to avail hostel facility.

Eligibility Criteria for GATE Qualified Candidates

• Candidates with a valid GATE score 2023/2022/ 2021 are eligible for IIT Guwahati M.Tech admission

• The candidates must score at least 60% of marks or 6.0 CPI out of 10 to be considered for M.Tech admission at IIT Guwahati

• Assistantships are provided to GATE qualifiers at the rate of Rs.12,400/- per month, with valid and qualifying GATE scores above the prescribed cut off level for the M.Tech course

• Candidates acquiring Assistantships must perform the academic duties of the institute

Eligibility Criteria for IIT B.Tech Graduates

IIT B.Tech graduates must have at least a CGPA of 8.0 out of 10 to get M.Tech admission at IIT Guwahati. A GATE score is not required for these candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Sponsored Candidates

A candidate seeking M.Tech admission under this category must be sponsored by a recognised R&D organisation, academic institution, governmental organisation, or industry for pursuing M.Tech in the Institute on a full-time basis. Candidates with a minimum of two years of work experience and waived from the requirement of GATE score.

Eligibility Criteria for Part-Time M.Tech

Under this category, candidates who have professionally employed personnel (including the staff of IIT Guwahati), can attend classes at the Institute while employed. These candidates must have at least two years of work experience are eligible for Part-Time M.Tech admission at IIT Guwahati. The candidates must attend the classes on the days or dates prescribed by IIT Guwahati.
