About GATE 2024

The GATE Result 2024 has been released on March 16, by IISc Bangalore. Candidates can find the link to download the GATE 2024 scorecard here. Additionally, the GATE Scorecard download 2024 link is now accessible on the official website of GATE 2024, gate2024.iisc.ac.in. GATE Scorecard 2024 releases on March 23, 2024. COAP registration for M. Tech admission in IITs will commence from March 19, 2024.

The GATE final answer key 2024 has also been made available on March 15, 2024. The provisional answer key for GATE 2024 was made available on February 19. From February 22 to 25, 2024, candidates had the opportunity to raise objections regarding the GATE Answer Key 2024. Students can find the direct link to download the GATE 2024 Answer Key from IISc here. Candidates can also access the GATE 2024 Answer Key through the GATE 2024 Login on the official website gate2024.iisc.ac.in. GATE 2024 Question Papers for all 30 subjects were also released along with the answer key.

Candidates who will pass the GATE exam will be eligible to take part in the GATE counselling process. GATE counselling 2024 will be done through COAP and CCMT. Candidates with valid GATE scores in 2024, 2023 and 2022 are eligible to apply for GATE counselling 2024. GATE 2024 score has a considerable weightage since all prestigious colleges that enrol students evaluate the GATE score for their admission procedure, and the same is true for PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings). 

The GATE 2024 exam took place on February 3 and 4 for the subjects AR, CY, DA, ES, PI, GE, ME, PH, BM, CE, CH, EY, GG, XH, IN, MA, MN, and PE. On February 10, the examination was held for CS, XE, XLAE, AG, BT, MT, NM, TF, and ST Papers. Lastly, the examination for EE and EC Papers was conducted on February 11.

GATE Result 2024

The GATE result 2024 has been declared on March 16, 2024. IISc Bangalore has published the results on the official website gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The scorecards for GATE 2024 will be available on March 23, 2024. Candidates who have taken the exam can view their results by logging into the portal. Successful candidates in GATE 2024 will have access to their scorecards, which will be valid for three years from the date of the GATE 2024 result declaration.

GATE 2024 Scorecard

The GATE Scorecard download 2024 link will be activated at gate2024.iisc.ac.in, on March 23, for eligible candidates. Students can download their scorecards for free until May 31, 2024. After this date, a payment of INR 500 will be required to download the GATE 2024 scorecard until December 31, 2024. It is recommended that candidates save a softcopy of their scorecard for future reference. Hard copies of the GATE Scorecard will not be issued. From January 1, 2025, no scorecards will be provided to candidates who qualified for GATE 2023.

How GATE Score is Calculated

The GATE Score will be calculated based on the raw or actual marks obtained by a candidate after evaluating the answers. In the case of multi-session papers (subjects), the candidate's raw marks obtained in different sessions will be converted to Normalized marks for that specific paper. Therefore, the GATE Score will be computed using either raw marks (for single-session papers) or normalized marks (for multi-session papers), depending on the qualifying marks.

GATE 2024 Cutoff

The exam conducting authority will release the GATE cutoff 2024 along with the results. GATE 2024 cutoff marks will be issued separately for each of the 30 papers. The GATE cutoff 2024 for admission to the different courses is provided by the GATE participating colleges 2024 or institutions shall be determined by the colleges or institutions. GATE 2024 Counselling

GATE counselling 2024 will be held for applicants who pass the GATE 2024 exam. The GATE 2024 counselling process is not centralized and conducted by two official bodies: the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) and the Centralised Counselling for MTech (CCMT). GATE COAP counselling is done for admission to M.Tech programs at IITs, whereas GATE CCMT counselling is held for admission to M.Tech programs in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. The GATE counselling 2024 includes various stages like registration, choice filling, document verification, seat allotment, fee payment, etc. The counselling process is held in various rounds. Following each round, the GATE counselling opening and closing ranks are announced. Candidates are offered admission to IITs, NITs, GFTIs, and IIITs based on their opening and closing ranks.

IIT Kanpur will conduct the GATE COAP 2024 counselling. The registration for IIT GATE Counselling 2024 will begin on March 19, 2024. The time window for candidates to view offers and take a decision through COAP round 1 is from May 13 to 15, 2024. GATE CCMT 2024 counselling dates will be released soon. 

GATE COAP 2024 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have a valid GATE score from the preceding three years to compete in the 2024 counselling round (2022/2023/2024).
  • Candidates must have a minimum of graduation marks, which vary based on the institution to which they apply.

GATE CCMT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have a valid GATE score from the preceding three years to compete in the 2024 counselling round (2022/2023/2024).
  • A least 6.5 CGPA or 60% is necessary for graduation. SC/ST/PWD applicants must have at least a CGPA of 6 or 55% in their graduation.

GATE Score Used for PSU Recruitment

GATE enables candidates to apply for admission or financial aid for Master's and doctoral programs in Engineering, Architecture, and related Science fields. Passing GATE is a prerequisite for enrolling in programs at MHRD-supported institutions, as well as various government organizations such as IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other Indian universities. GATE 2024 Answer Key

GATE final answer key has been released on March 15, 2024, in online mode. The preliminary answer key for GATE 2024 was published on February 19. What is GATE?

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national-level examination, which is conducted for candidates seeking admission in Post Graduate Programmes (M.E., M.Tech, MS, Direct PhD) offered at institutes of national importance, including IITs and IISc, etc. with financial assistance from MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development). The GATE scores are also used by various PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) to recruit candidates for prestigious jobs. A total of 30 papers are conducted as part of the GATE examination. Candidates can apply for only one of the papers based on the discipline of their qualifying degree or their admission plan. While applying for the paper of their choice, candidates must also keep in mind the eligibility criteria set by the institutions where they wish to get admission. 

GATE Conducting Body

IISC Bangalore is the conducting body for the GATE 2024 exam. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee) jointly administer the conduct of GATE. The operations related to GATE in each of the eight zones are managed by a zonal GATE Office at the IITs or IISc. The Organizing Institute (OI) is responsible for the end-to-end process and coordination among the administering Institutes.

What's New in GATE 2024?

IISc Bangalore introduced some changes in the GATE 2024 exam pattern, exam centre, application fees, and syllabus. The latest changes have been listed under the "What's New in GATE 2024" section here. 

  • One new paper - 'Data Science and Artificial Intelligence' has been added to the GATE 2024 Syllabus this year, after which the total number of GATE exam papers has increased from 29 to 30.

  • The payable GATE 2024 registration fee for PWD/ST/SC candidates has been increased from INR 850 to INR 900; the GATE 2024 application fee amount, which was previously INR 1700 for all other candidates, has now been increased to INR 1800. 

  • The GATE 2024 exam was conducted at test centres outside India.

IISc Bangalore has issued the GATE 2024 syllabus for each paper. This year, the authorities have introduced a new paper on Data Science & Artificial Intelligence to the existing syllabus.
