Dr. Bharat Jigyasi was the intensivist who looked after the donor. He informed that the individual was in an unconscious state when he was rushed to the hospital. Dr. Jigyasi also informed that he complained of abdomen pain and drowsiness to his parents.

He did not regain consciousness after he was rushed to the hospital. A CT scan was taken on the third day that indicated brain bleeding. His family was later encouraged to donate organs, added the doctor.

The donor lost his vision due to retinitis pigmentosa when he was five years old. He was a good student and was studying in the final year of his course.

His family donated his liver and kidneys that helped three patients. One of the kidneys was donated to a patient who awaited transplant at MGM Hospital, the other kidney was donated to a patient admitted at Jaslok Hospital whereas the liver was donated to a patient at Global Hospital, Parel.
