The three days 17th edition of Techniche, IIT-Guwahati (IIT-G)'s annual techno-management festival, concluded with participation of 25 students from 300 education institutes across the country.
The three-day event saw students being tested on everything from technology to management to robotics. The inaugural ceremony was graced by IIT-G director Gautam Biswas, dean of student affairs Chandan Mahanta.
"This edition of Techniche was aimed at providing a platform to the country's students. From higher secondary students to postgraduate ones, all could take part in these programmes," said a press release from the organizing committee.
People from diverse filed delivered their lectures at the event. Some of the prominent speakers were Claud Nicollier (the first astronaut from Switzerland), Daniel Domscheit-Berg (a technology activist from Germany), Polaris MD Pankaj Dubey and Tapan Singhel (CEO of Bajaj Allianz Group) etc. to name a few.
Besides that Tanvi Bhatt, founder, Panache, and wheat pathologist S Nagarajan, Vikas Swarup, author of the novel 'Q & A' that was made into the Oscar-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire', also delivered lecture.
Several workshops on cutting edge -technology were organized on the occasion. Gaming events like Planetarium, Live Counter Strike, Sudoku Championship and LAN gaming etc. were also part of the event.
NF Railway also participated in the technical exhibition. The stalls displayed various wings of NFR with latest technological advancements in the field of operation and maintenance of railway system. Among the displays being made by NFR at the technical exhibition are various mechanical and electrical components of different types of diesel-electric locomotives, network management of data logger, Mobile Train Radio Communication (MTRC) network, bio digester tank model, among others.
