IIT Madras Placements 2025-26 Begins; Over 300 companies, 100 startups participating

IIT Madras Day 1 Placements 2025-26 Begins: The placement drive of the IIT Madras has already begun on December 1, 2025. As per the report, a total of 300 companies have already registered for the IIT Madras placement drive. Along with it, more than 100 mature startups have registered for the placement drive this year. On the first day, several branches of the Institute witnessed diversified job profiles, which offer a wide range of high-paying opportunities.
The authority of IIT Madras has informed that the Institute has more core companies, including public sector undertakings, participating this year compared to the previous year. All of them are planning to hire a significant number of candidates. Director V. Kamakoti also added that they hope IIT Madras will have a good season this year.
Approximately 2000 candidates have been registered this year for the IIT Madras placement drive 2025-26. Recruiters are offering jobs for Software Development, Analytics, Finance, and Consulting. Also, there will be the IIT Madras Day 2 placement drive, which will be conducted from January to May. The IIT authority has already informed that a total of 100 more companies will be there in the Phase 2 IIT Madras placement drive.
To make the IIT Madras placement drive successful, the Institute has already created an external advisory board with alumni, industry experts, and entrepreneurs, so that the students can witness a global perspective through the placement drive. It also aims to encourage the students who are preparing for the civil services and want to become entrepreneurs. Last year, 93% eligible students secured a job via the previous year’s IIT Madras placement drive.
IIT Madras has made a strategic collaboration with the Indian Navy & Apollo Micro Systems to ace the performance level of the indigenous defence technology development. For the same, an MoU was formally exchanged in the presence of Sri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Raksha Mantri of India.
