CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rains between November 28 to December 2 due to a 'Depression' that has formed over the Bay of Bengal. The 'Depression' is likely to intensify into a 'Deep Depression' by November 27. This scenario might cause heavy rains in over 6 districts of Tamil Nadu on November 28, and there is a chance for more rain on November 29 as well. The Indian Meteorological Department has already issued an 'Orange Alert' for 4 districts and another 3 districts are under 'Heavy Rain' alert. Usually, if there are heavy rains, district collectors decide on the school holiday. As there is a chance for heavy rain over 6 districts of Tamil Nadu on November 28, there is a chance for a school holiday in certain districts. However, an official announcement on the school holiday is still awaited, and the announcements will come based on the existing weather conditions during the night of November 27 and the early hours of November 28.
