KCET 2026 Examination: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has officially announced the exam dates for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2026, signalling the start of the admission process for undergraduate courses in Karnataka. The KCET is held annually for entrance into engineering, pharmacy, agriculture and other professional programmes in the state. According to the official notification, the KCET 2026 application window will be opened on January 17, and the exam will be conducted on April 23 and 24, 2026.
To apply for KCET 2026, candidates should have passed the 2nd PUC / Class 12 or its equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects, and Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science as a second optional subject. Aspirants appearing for Class 12 board exams in the year 2026 to take the exam are also eligible to apply. Also, the applicants must satisfy the Karnataka domicile criteria, which comprise such categories as residence in the state, study in Karnataka for a certain number of years, or parental domicile as per KCET rules.

KCET 2026 Mode of Examination
The examination is offline (pen and paper) based, and the question paper comprises Objective Type Questions (MCQs). There are three subject papers:
- Physics – 60 questions
- Chemistry – 60 questions
- 60 questions in Mathematics/Biology.
- Total Questions: 180 (60 for each paper)
- Duration: 3 hours (60 minutes for each subject paper)
- Marking scheme: One mark for every correct answer
- There is no negative marking for wrong answers or unattempted questions.
- The questions are strictly based on the syllabus of Karnataka PUC (Class 11 & 12).
