Over 400 LLB Seats Likely to Increase in Law Colleges from Next Academic Year
LLB seats are likely to increase in Hyderabad and its adjoining areas. The same will be implemented from the upcoming academic session. The state government will have to seek permission from the BCI to increase the LLB seats in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad and the surrounding areas are likely to increase around 60 LLM seats and 360 to 400 LLB seats for the upcoming academic year. The TS LAWCET and TS PGLCET convener, Professor G.B. Reddy said that two law colleges are expected to come up in Hyderabad. He further added that both the colleges have applied for the five-year integrated course and the Bar Council of India has sanctioned 120 seats for each institute.
As per the reports, Vishwa Bharati College of Law is likely to introduce 180 seats, in two different streams offered by the three-year degree course. Also, in one of the colleges that lie under the Satavahana University, around 60 seats are expected to be added to the law degree courses.
Professor Reddy stated that the addition of seats will be to the prevailing 3,909 law seats of three-year-long LLB in 21 colleges and 1,340 law seats in the five-year-long LLB in 13 colleges. The state government will require the permission of the Bar Council of India for additional seats.

Earlier, the result of the LAWCET and PGLCET exams were announced in the state where 16,572 students cleared the exam out of the 21,559 students who appeared for them. LAWCET and PGLCET are the two most sought-after state-level law exams that provide admission to a few of the top law colleges in the nation.
