NBE Official Tweets DNB CET to be Replaced by NEET PG from 2017
Candidates aspiring to enter speciality courses will now have to sit for NEET PG.
According to National Board of Examinations (NBE), candidates aspiring to enter super speciality courses will no longer have to appear for Diplomate of National Board Centralised Entrance Test (DNB CET). Instead, the candidates will have to sit for NEET PG. This was tweeted by Dr. Bipin Batra, Executive Director of NBE, in which he said that there no longer will be a separate CET for DNB broad specialties. This decision will come into effect from January 2017.

Also the candidates appearing for NEET PG can apply for faculty positions in hospitals and medical institutions, apart from super specialities. Earlier the same was under DNB CET.
An official notification regarding the same has not yet been released by NBE.
Earlier, in order to get admission to specialised six-year medical programmes, students had to appear for DNB CET. Some of the specialised programs include:
- Plastic surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Cardio-thoracic surgery
- Pediatric surgery.

Also, candidates looking forward to jobs as faculty also had to sit for the DNB CET.
Earlier NEET PG had replaced All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE). Now it has also replaced DNB CET.
Aspirants for MD/MS and PG diploma courses to all government, private and deemed medical colleges across India will now have to appear for NEET PG.
