NEET Aspirants Demand to Postpone Date of NEET-UG 2017, File Petition in SC

The petitioners from Lucknow explained that UP board exams will conclude on April 21 and CBSE exams will end on April 29, 2017. The students who are appearing for these exams will not have much time to prepare for NEET-UG 2017.

Some of the NEET aspirants have filed a petition in Supreme Court to postpone the date of NEET-UG 2017 that is scheduled to take place on May 7, 2017. The petitioners claimed that UP board exams and CBSE board examinations would be ending barely in time before the NEET that will take place in the first week of May. Therefore, they filed the petition for the extension of the date.

The petitioners from Lucknow explained that UP board exams will conclude on April 21 and CBSE exams will end on April 29, 2017. The students who are appearing for these exams will not have much time to prepare for NEET-UG 2017. Without enough preparation, the students may not be able to get good ranks which will, in turn, affect their career.

Aspirants claimed that they need to revise and prepare the subjects of Class XI and Class XII for NEET-UG 2017. The CBSE Class 12 examinations will continue until April 29, 2017, and there is only one week to cover up the syllabus of Class XI, which is not enough. Therefore, the government shall rethink on the NEET-UG 2017 exam date.

The apex court will hear the petition on April 17, 2017 that has been filed by Sankalp Charitable Trust seeking postponement of exam date. The petitioner also claimed that the students got two months of time to prepare for NEET in 2016. However, due to assembly polls in some states, the board exams were postponed and students now have only a few days to prepare for the national level medical entrance examination.
