No Age Bar for CPAT 2017, UP Domicile Must for Admission in Government and Aided Colleges

  • Interested applicants above the age of 25 can also apply for the Combined Pre-Ayush Test (CPAT) 2017 latest by 25th September.
  • Students belonging to UP domicile will only be eligible for admission in government and aided colleges of the state.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has removed the age bar or restriction that was earlier prevalent for the CPAT 2017 examination. According to the official notification of CPAT that was issued earlier, the upper age limit for the applicants was 25 years. Aspiring candidates must note that the eligibility criteria for CPAT 2017 has been revised. Candidates who are above 25 years of age can also register for the CPAT 2017 exam as the age bar on the exam eligibility has been removed. An official decision on the same was taken at the meeting of Advisory Committee on September 19, 2017.

State Coordinator for CPAT 2017, Professor Naveen Khare also revealed that only those students who have a domicile of Uttar Pradesh would be granted admission in aided and government colleges of the state basis their CPAT 2017 score. Candidates who have passed or qualified high school and intermediate from the UP state need not produce/ submit the Certificate of Domicile at the time of applying for the exam. Domicile certificate will be needed to be produced at the time of counselling, he added.

Students from other states who wish to seek admission in AYUSH courses must qualify in CPAT 2017 as the primary eligibility. Outside state students must note that they will be able to seek admission only in self-financing and private colleges across the state. These students will also be required to produce/submit the Certificate of Domicile issued by the appropriate authority.
