Osmania University College of Engineering Bags NBA Accreditation for 6 Years
The Osmania University College of Engineering has got NBA accreditation for a maximum of 6 years for some courses after the 11 members team of NBA visited the college in June.
OUCE or the Osmania University College of Engineering gets NBA (National Board of Accreditation) for the next six years to conduct technical courses. The accreditation was offered on Monday, 11th November to OUCE for conducting various courses.
According to a press release by Osmania University on 11th November, a committee consisting of 11 members from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) visited OUCE from 26th to 28th July 2019 for accrediting various departments. The NBA had visited the institute to accredit the departments of Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Several college-wise and department-wise committees were constituted by the institute for making the self-assessment report with the aim of getting NBA accreditation for all programmes offered in OUCE. According to the reports, the undergraduate programme of Biomedical Engineering has been accredited for the highest time period, a 6 years accreditation has been given to the department which will be valid till November 2025. The departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering have been accredited for 3 years until November 2022. The department of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) had already received accreditation in June 2019 which is valid till June 2022. The CSE Department was accredited on an NBA visit in March 2019.

The press release of Osmania University said that the NBA accreditation will help the institute to gather funds for more developed academic structure. The state and central governments will be ready to grant funds if the college has NBA accreditation. The accreditation will also help the colleges to score a higher rank in national and international rankings which are released on an annual basis.
Apart from that, the industry interactions, students placements, admissions in reputed institutes of global fame and internship opportunities will also increase with the accreditation.
